How did you get this idea?

Eclipse is my daily working environment. There’s one day I suddenly find I waste too much time on aligning and dragging sash to make an editor show more words. Why can’t I directly drag an editor to make it bigger?

Meanwhile, as a heavy middle button user with Firefox, I find that eclipse haven’t realized our mice have 3-buttons for years.

Then, I put them together.

What version of Eclipse is supported?

  • Eclipse 3.6 (Helios)
  • Eclipse 3.5 (Galileo)
  • Eclipse 3.4 (Ganymede)
  • Other eclipse-based IDEs, such as Flash Builder, Aptana, and etc.

How to use?

Easy Resizing is the main feature this plug-in will introduce. The idea is just simple: resize an editor or a view by middle-dragging:

  • Press the middle button of your mouse on an editor or a view.
  • See the notification area which responds to the position of the cursor.
  • Drag to resize the editor/view.

In addition, maximizing and minimizing editor/view are also enhanced. Just enjoy middle-clicking your editor/view:

  • Easy Maximizing
    • Maximizing an editor/view just by double-clicking anywhere inside that editor/view.
    • Or hold the ‘Ctrl’ key and middle-click the editor/view.
    • Do the same to restore.
  • Easy minimizing
    • Hold the ‘Alt’ key and middle-click the editor/view.
